Oriental Mindoro Birth Statistics (Preliminary)
April to June 2021

 

Explanatory Note

 

Data presented in this special release were obtained from the timely and late registered births at the Office of the City/Municipal Civil Registrars throughout the province and submitted to the Office of the Civil Registrar-General through the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) for encoding.  Information presented includes the births the occurred from April until June 2021 (cut-off date is as of 30 September 2021 on the submission of encoded data files to the PSA-Central Office from PSOs while cut-off date for April-June 2020 is July 16, 2021).  Figures presented herein are still preliminary and may differ from the final counts.

 

Number of timely-registered births in Oriental Mindoro lesser in the months of April to June 2021

The second quarter of 2021 saw a decline in the number of timely-registered births in the province of Oriental Mindoro with a total of 2,369, lower by 11.3 percent compared to the number of timely-registered births of 2,672 in the same period last year.

All months in the second quarter of 2021 showed decreases when compared to the same period last year. A total of 756 births was registered last April, down from 781 in the same period last year; 867 were registered in May down from 986 last year; and 746 birth were registered in June, declining from 905 new births of the same period last year.

 

Majority of city/municipalities in Oriental Mindoro post declines in registered births in 2nd Quarter 2021

During the second quarter of 2021, eleven city/municipalities of Oriental Mindoro reported decreases in registered births when compared to their registration in same period last year.  Only the municipalities of San Teodoro, Pola, Bulalacao, and Baco did not post declines in their timely-registered births.

Calapan City had the most number of timely-birth registration with 414 in the second quarter of 2021. Naujan followed Calapan City with 239 registered births.  Bongabong and Pinamalayan were able to register 219 and 206 births, respectively.
