The headline inflation or the overall inflation in Oriental Mindoro increased to 7.3 percent in August 2023 from 6.5 percent in July 2023. This brings the province’s average inflation rate from January to August 2023 to 9.1 percent. In August 2022, inflation rate was recorded at 6.4 percent. Based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH), a total of 20,926 occupied housing units were listed in Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro. The headline inflation or the overall inflation in Oriental Mindoro slowed down further to 6.5 percent in July 2023 from 8.4 percent in June 2023. This is the sixth consecutive month of deceleration and the lowest in the headline inflation of the province since February 2023. The average inflation rate from January to July 2023 stood at 9.3 percent. In July 2022, inflation rate was recorded at 6.5 percent.
