Religious Affiliation in Pola, Oriental Mindoro

Roman Catholic account for 87.9 percent of the household population
Of the 35,455 household population in 2020, 31,173 persons (87.9 percent) reported Roman Catholic, Excluding Catholic Charismatic as their religious affiliation. It was followed by Iglesia Ni Cristo with 1,130 persons or 3.2 percent, and Jesus is Lord Church with 760 or 2.1 percent. Completing the top ten of religious affiliation were Seventh Day Adventist with 1.8 percent, Church of Christ with 1.5 percent, Assemblies of God with 0.6 percent, Association of Fundamental Baptist Churches in the Philippines with 0.3 percent, United Pentecostal Church (Philippines), Inc. and Jehovah’s Witness with 0.2 each and Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints with 0.1 percent.
Barangay Tagumpay with the highest proportion of household population that reported Roman Catholic as their religion
Of the 23 Barangays in the municipality of Pola, Oriental Mindoro, Barangay Tagumpay posted the highest proportion of Roman Catholics comprising 100.0 percent of the household population. It was followed by Barangay Puting Cacao with 99.8 percent, Barangay Calubasanhon with 99.0 percent, Barangay Zone I with 98.3 percent and Barangay Zone II with 94.6 percent, Barangay Biga reported the least number of household population, out of 1,286, 734 persons (57 .1 percent) recorded Roman Catholic as their religion. Barangays with at least 90.0 percent of household population who reported Roman Catholic as their religion
Among the 23 Barangays in the municipality of Pola, Oriental Mindoro, there were twelve barangays with at least 90.0 percent of household population reported Roman Catholic as their religious affiliation. These were the Barangay Tagumpay with 100.0 percent, Barangay Puting Cacao with 99.8 percent, Barangay Calubasanhon with 99.0, Barangay Zone I with 98.3 percent, Barangay Zone II with 94.6 percent, Barangay Tagbakin with 93.4 percent, Barangay Pahilahan with 93.1 percent, Barangay Matulatula with 92.4 percent, Barangay Tiguihan with 92.1 percent, Barangay Bacungan with 90.6 percent, Barangay Malibago with 90.4 percent and Barangay Panikihan with 90.2 percent, respectively.
Barangay Buhay na Tubig has the highest proportion of household population with Iglesia ni Cristo as religion
The municipality of Pola was able to register 1,130 persons (3.2 percent) who reported Iglesia ni Cristo as their religion. Nineteen barangays were recorded with Iglesia ni Cristo as their religion in Pola, Oriental Mindoro. Barangay Buhay na Tubig posted the highest proportion of Iglesia ni Cristo with 12.1 percent as their religion. It was followed by Barangay Bacawan with 10.8 percent, Barangay Maluanluan with 7.3 percent, Barangay Biga with 6.2 percent and Barangay Casiligan with 3.6 percent. Barangay Puting Cacao with 0.1 percent reported the least number of household population in Iglesia ni Cristo as their religion. (Table 5)
Barangays with Double-Digit Proportion of Household Population Who Reported Iglesia ni Cristo as Their Religious Affiliation
Among the 23 Barangays in the municipality of Pola, Oriental Mindoro, there were two Barangays with double-digit proportion of household population recorded Iglesia ni Cristo as their religious affiliation. First were Barangay Buhay na Tubig with 12.1 percent and secondly, Barangay Bacawan with 10.8 percent. (table 6)

The population and housing censuses in the Philippines are conducted on a “de jure” basis, that is, a person is counted in the usual place of residence or the place where the person usually resides. The enumeration of the population and collection of pertinent data in the 2020 CPH referred to all living persons as of 01 May 2020.
For the 2020 CPH, data on the Religious Affiliation of all household members were collected by asking the respondents, “What is ____’s religious affiliation?”.
