12 February 2025 - SANTA FE, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority-Romblon Provincial Statistical Office successfully awarded free Birth Certificates in Security Papers (SECPA) to thirty-five (35) beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) in Santa Fe, Romblon, as part of the activities in the celebration of the 35th Civil Registration Month celebration with the theme “𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘈𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦-𝘧𝘪𝘵 𝘊𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘝𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮”. The event, which took place at Conference Hall, Santa Fe Municipal Building, Brgy. Poblacion, Santa Fe, Romblon on 12 February 2025, represented an important milestone in the goal to guarantee everyone has access to their essential civil documents.


The awarding ceremony was facilitated by Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Johnny F. Solis, Municipal Civil Registrar Ms. Jacqueline B. Mayor, Registration Officer II Ms. Maria Cristina M. Uy, and Registration Officer I Engr. Mariel V. Fallarcuna. Hon. Jessie Ann P. Del Prado, Vice Mayor of Santa Fe, was present in the activity as well. In his message, CSS Solis underlined that having a valid birth certificate is a fundamental right for every Filipino and emphasized the significance of civil registration in gaining access to various social services and benefits.

Additionally, Vice Mayor Del Prado acknowledged the PSA's work and reiterated the local government's support for the initiative. The involvement demonstrated how dedicated the local government is in promoting programs that improve the quality of life for its residents. Meanwhile, Municipal Civil Registrar Ms. Jacquelyn B. Mayor reassured everyone that their office is always open to support anyone interested in applying for the BRAP.
During the ceremony, highlighted were the beneficiaries who were born outside of the province but were processed under out-of-town delayed registration procedures. Among them were recipients who were born in provinces of Camarines Sur, Nueva Ecija and Rizal. They have expressed their utmost gratitude for the program as it benefited not only them but their children also.
Delivering reliable and accessible civil registration services to all Filipinos is still the PSA's unwavering aim. Through the project's free SECPA copies, beneficiaries are assisted in obtaining vital documentation that is necessary to receive government services such as healthcare, education, and employment, etc.
The Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) will continue its commitments to facilitate the registration, ensuring that all Filipino births are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices.
