11 December 2024 – ARGAO, MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE. PSA PSO Marinduque, in partnership with LCRO Mogpog, carried out a successful Mobile Registration for BRAP in Barangay Argao, Mogpog, Marinduque on 11 December 2024. Birth Registration Coordinator Shiela Mae D. Matining, along with Mogpog LCRO personnel Hannah Ditan and Ma. Lorena Dumlao, worked thoroughly to prepare certificates of live birth of individuals whose births are not yet registered in the PSA database. The PhilSys Team also participated in the activity to enroll residents who have not yet registered in the National ID System.
Additionally, a Certificate of Live Birth in SecPa was issued to the sole BRAP beneficiary residing in the barangay. The beneficiary expressed sincere gratitude for the PSA program, emphasizing how receiving the official PSA-issued birth certificate marked a significant and meaningful milestone. This document not only ensures legal recognition but also enables access to vital services and benefits, representing an important advancement in the beneficiary's personal and administrative affairs.
This initiative was crucial in addressing the delayed registration of an individual’s live birth. By fulfilling the necessary requirements, participants took an important step toward obtaining their legal documentation, which is vital for accessing various services and entitlements. The collaborative effort between the PSA and LCRO ensured a smooth and efficient registration process, underscoring their commitment to enhancing civil registration services in the community.
Starting 2022, one of the major programs of the PSA is the implementation of the Birth Registration Assistance Project in the country. This project aims to increase the level of civil registration especially in marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous Peoples group, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sector in the country and ensuring that they have their PhilIDs issued which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identities.
