04 April 2025 – SANTA CRUZ, MARINDUQUE – The PSA PSO Marinduque, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Santa Cruz and the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Santa Cruz, successfully conducted an Information Dissemination Campaign on Civil Registration and the National ID system in two barangays - Makulapnit and Kilo-Kilo, on 04 April 2025. Held at the respective Barangay Halls, the activity aimed to educate and assist residents on matters related to civil registration and the National Identification System.
Birth Registration Coordinator Shiela Mae D. Matining provided a detailed discussion on the procedures and requirements for delayed birth registration under the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). Joining her were National ID personnel Jiezle Janda and Danice Sherlean Laceda, who shared updates on the National ID system and extended services to the attendees. Additionally, a preliminary list of potential BRAP beneficiaries was compiled for further verification in the PSA database.
A highlight of the event was the free distribution of the paper-based National ID to residents, along with on-site registration services for individuals who had not yet enrolled in the National ID system. The outreach initiative is part of PSA-Marinduque’s continuing efforts to bring government services closer to communities and ensure that every Filipino is properly documented and included in national records.
BRAP was implemented in the country to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices and that they will be enrolled with the Philippine National Identification System specially in marginalized communities such as the Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos and the poorest sector in the country and ensuring that they have their PhilIDs issued which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identities.
