16 September 2024 - ARGAO, MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE – PSA PSO Marinduque, in collaboration with the LGU of Mogpog and spearheaded by the Mogpog LCRO, successfully conducted an Information Dissemination campaign on Civil Registration in Barangay Argao, Mogpog, Marinduque on 16 September 2024. Held at the barangay's covered court, the event aimed to educate and assist residents with civil registration matters.
Birth Registration Coordinator Shiela Mae D. Matining, alongside Mogpog MCR Virginia Sartillo and her team, provided valuable information and services. MCR Sartillo delivered a presentation on Civil Registration Laws, including the legitimation process and the procedures for regular delayed registration. BRC Matining detailed the steps and requirements for delayed registration under the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). A list of potential beneficiaries was also compiled for verification in the PSA database.
Furthermore, the event featured the free distribution of PSA-issued Birth Certificates to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs), facilitated by the GAD Fund project of the Mogpog LCRO. The team also managed requests for PSA copies of civil registry documents through Mogpog BREQS.
This collaborative effort ensured that crucial information and assistance were accessible to the community, enhancing the residents' understanding of civil registration and their ability to obtain necessary documents.
BRAP was implemented in the country to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices and that they will be enrolled with the Philippine National Identification System specially in marginalized communities such as the Indigenous People, Muslim Filipinos and the poorest sector in the country and ensuring that they have their PhilIDs issued which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identities.
