Concepcion’s population recorded at 3,427

The population of the municipality of Concepcion as of July 1, 2024 was 3,427 persons. This population count is based on the 2024 Census of Population (2024 POPCEN).

This count has been declared official for all purposes by the President of the Philippines through Proclamation No. 973 dated 11 July 2025, pursuant to Republic Act No. 10625, or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, and Executive Order No. 87, s. 2025. These mandate the conduct of periodic censuses to provide government planners, policymakers, and administrators with essential data for crafting social and economic development plans and programs.

This municipal population figure reflects the total number of persons living in the 12 barangays of the municipality as of 12:01 AM on 01 July 2024. It also includes Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates, and missions abroad.

The population in 2024 is lower by 164 compared with the population in 2020, and by 610 compared with the population in 2015. Table 1 shows the comparative results of the population in the past 4 censuses.

The municipality’s population declined by -0.92 percent

The population growth of Concepcion declined by -0.92 percent annually from 2020 to 2024. The rate at which the population grew from 2015 to 2020 is at -2.60 percent. The decline in the growth rate maybe driven by interrelated factors such as but not limited to declining fertility and birth rate, mortality during the pandemic and migration activity after the pandemic.

About one in every five Concepcion residents are in Poblacion

The municipality of Concepcion comprises 9 barangays. In 2024, Barangay Poblacion recorded the highest population at 829, accounting for 24.2 percent of the municipal total. It was followed by the barangays of Calabasahan with 552 residents (16.1%) and San Pedro with 422 residents (12.3%). Collectively, these three barangays comprised approximately more than half (52.6%) of Concepcion’s total population (Figure 1 and Table 3). Ranking fourth and fifth in terms of population were the barangays of Bachawan (375) and Sampong (342), respectively.

Barangay Masadya was the smallest barangay, in terms of population size, with only 172 persons. It was followed by Barangay San Vicente with 188 persons. Their population represents 5.0 and 5.5 percent, respectively.

Out of the 9 barangays, there were 3 which had a positive annual population growth rate (APGR). Barangay Bachawan had the highest growth rate with 1.12 percent. It was followed by Masudsud (0.88%) and Sampong (0.64%). The rest exhibited decline population growth rate.
