Looc’s population recorded at 21,964
The population of the municipality of Looc as of July 1, 2024 was 21,964 persons. This population count is based on the 2024 Census of Population (2024 POPCEN).
This count has been declared official for all purposes by the President of the Philippines through Proclamation No. 973 dated 11 July 2025, pursuant to Republic Act No. 10625, or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, and Executive Order No. 87, s. 2025. These mandate the conduct of periodic censuses to provide government planners, policymakers, and administrators with essential data for crafting social and economic development plans and programs.
This municipal population figure reflects the total number of persons living in the 12 barangays of the municipality as of 12:01 AM on 01 July 2024. It also includes Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates, and missions abroad.
The population in 2024 is higher by 165 compared with the population in 2020, and lower by 298 compared with the population in 2015. Table 1 shows the comparative results of the population in the past 4 censuses.

The municipality’s population grew by 0.18 percent
The population of Looc grew at an average annual rate of 0.18 percent from 2020 to 2024. In contrast, it experienced a negative growth rate of -0.44 percent annually from 2015 to 2020. The recent shift to a modest positive growth may be attributed to interrelated factors, including declining fertility and birth rates, pandemic-related mortality, and migration activity in the post-pandemic period.

Sixteen in every one hundred Looc residents are in Poblacion
The municipality of Looc comprises 12 barangays. In 2024, Barangay Poblacion recorded the highest population at 3,529, accounting for 16.1 percent of the municipal total. It was followed by the barangays of Punta with 2,918 residents (13.3%) and Camandag with 2,285 residents (10.4%). Collectively, these three barangays comprised approximately 39.8 percent of Looc’s total population (Figure 1 and Table 3). Ranking fourth and fifth in terms of population were the barangays of Limon Norte (1,910) and Agojo (1,817), respectively.

Barangay Tuguis was the smallest barangay, in terms of population size, with only 1,028 persons. It was followed by Barangay Buenavista with 1,177 persons. Their population represents 4.7 and 5.4 percent, respectively.
Out of the 12 barangays, there were 7 which had a positive annual population growth rate (APGR). Barangay Pili had the highest growth rate with 7.90 percent. It was followed by Camandag (2.68%), Balatucan (2.61%), Poblacion (1.84%), Agojo (1.62%), Guinhayaan (0.20%), and Manhac (0.11%). The rest exhibited decline in population growth rate.
