16 MAY 2025 – PUTING BUHANGIN, MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE. Through the initiative of the Mogpog Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO), the PSA PSO Marinduque, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mogpog, successfully conducted Mobile Registration Services in Barangay Puting Buhangin, Mogpog.
Birth Registration Coordinator (BRC) Shiela Mae D. Matining, together with Mogpog Municipal Civil Registrar Virginia Sartillo and staff, visited the barangay to conduct an information campaign on civil registration and to assist residents in preparing birth certificates for individuals whose records were not yet available in the PSA database.
Before the registration activities began, MCR Sartillo delivered a brief orientation on Civil Registration and the various services offered by their office. The team also accepted requests for civil registry documents through the Mogpog Batch Request System (BREQS). BRC Matining presented the procedure and requirements for the delayed registration of live births under the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). As part of the services provided, potential BRAP beneficiaries were identified and listed for further verification in the PSA database.
Notably, among the three registrants during the event were two nonagenarians, aged 97 and 95, for whom Certificates of Live Birth (COLBs) were successfully prepared. Their documents will be forwarded to the PSA Central Office for evaluation to confirm their ages at the time of birth. Informational leaflets on civil registration were also distributed to residents, helping raise awareness about the importance and availability of civil registry services.
Launched in February 2022, the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) facilitates the late registration of birth records for individuals from marginalized sectors, including Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, the poor, senior citizens, and those residing outside their places of birth. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the Philippine Statistics Authority’s (PSA) commitment to ensuring that all Filipino births are registered with Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) and enrolled in the National ID System.
