07 MARCH 2025 – BOCBOC, MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE. On 07 March 2025, PSA PSO Marinduque, in partnership with LCRO Mogpog, successfully conducted Mobile Registration Services in Barangay Bocboc. BRC Shiela Mae D. Matining, along with Mogpog MCR Virginia Sartillo and staff, visited the barangay to conduct Information Dissemination and to prepare birth certificates for individuals whose birth records were not available in the PSA database. Before the registration commenced, MCR Sartillo prepared a short information about Civil Registration and other services offered by their office. They also delivered various services, including the acceptance of requests for civil registry documents through the Mogpog BREQS.
Additionally, BRC Matining outlined the procedure and requirements for delayed registration of live births through the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). During the event, potential beneficiaries for delayed registration under BRAP were identified and listed for verification in the PSA database. Leaflets containing information about civil registration were also distributed to the residents in attendance. Two registrants successfully completed the necessary requirements for delayed registration, resulting in the preparation of their Certificates of Live Birth (COLBs).
Launched in February 2022, BRAP allows the late registration of the birth records of individuals belonging to marginalized communities, such as Indigenous Peoples group, Muslim Filipinos, the poorest sector of the society, senior citizens, and those who are currently living outside of their birthplaces. This is a significant milestone which the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) prioritizes to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) and that they will be enrolled to the National lD System.
