22 August 2024 - Awarding of SECPA Birth Certificates to 207 BRAP Beneficiaries in San Fernando.

22 JANUARY 2025 – ROMBLON, ROMBLON. As the organization mandated by Republic Act No.  10625 to carry out, enforce, and administer civil registration functions in the country, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is responsible for overseeing all pertinent actions under Act No. 3753, also referred to as the Law on Civil Registry Status.

To guarantee that all Filipino births are recorded in the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs), the PSA is implementing the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) nationwide as one of its main initiatives.

In Romblon, as the BRAP is continuously implemented around the province, more and more Romblomanons have benefited specially those persons in marginalized communities, Indigenous People, poorest sector, and persons currently living outside their place of birth. Numerous mobile registration initiatives were carried out in different barangays around the province in collaboration with Local Government Units (LGUs) and their Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs). As of 31 December 2024, 2,671 beneficiaries had been successfully registered in the province of Romblon with the oldest beneficiaries from municipalities of San Jose and Magdiwang, both born on 1927.

25 November 2024 - Awarding of SECPA Birth Certificates to 68 BRAP Beneficiaries in Magdiwang.

Aside from registration, through the joint efforts of PSA and LCROs, a total of 1,362 free SECPA Birth Certificates were successfully awarded to BRAP beneficiaries. Giving beneficiaries SECPA Birth Certificates is a significant improvement in BRAP, highlighting the dedication to providing residents with reliable documentation necessary for their rights and identity requirements. The successful issuance of SECPA birth certificates is a sign that BRAP between PSA and LGUs is being implemented effectively and efficiently.

The BRAP plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the protection, inclusion, and empowerment of Filipino citizens. By promoting universal birth registration and facilitating access to birth certificates, these programs uphold fundamental rights, strengthen governance, and contribute to social and economic development in the country.

PSA Romblon is calling the attention of those persons with unregistered births, or if you have knowledge of someone without birth registration that belongs to the marginal sector, you are advised to report to your Municipal Civil Registrar in your municipality and inquire how to avail of the program.
