Mayor Carrion delivered her remarks, expressing her complete support to the program's
attaining success. CSS Opis also acknowledged everyone who contributed to the program’s
success. Furthermore, MCR Jandusay highlighted the significance of the aforementioned
effort because it greatly aided the citizens in obtaining a birth certificate, which is one of the
essential documents required in all transactions.

The recipients of the said documents were residents of several barangays in Boac, including
Duyay, Sabong, and Lupac. Recipients were born outside of the province, thus, they were
overjoyed that their birth certificates had finally been registered, without the need to go home
to their birth provinces.
As Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) is continuously implemented around the
country, more and more Filipinos have benefited from this project. The BRAP aims to increase
the level of birth registration, especially in marginalized communities such as those belonging
to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) groups, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sector in the
country. It also aims to ensure that these groups are enrolled in the Philippine Identification
System and have been issued with their Philippine Identification (PhilID) card which is a
gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identity. With these, the affected
population can now avail social services and fulfill their basic rights because they can now
present birth records and PhilID to prove their legal identity.
