01 AUGUST 2024 – SANTA CRUZ, MARINDUQUE. On 01 August 2024, the PSA Marinduque-PSO, in partnership with the LGU Santa Cruz, successfully carried out an Information Dissemination Campaign for the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). The campaign took place in District 2 Barangays in Santa Cruz - Barangays Napo and Taytay.
Birth Registration Coordinator Shiela Mae D. Matining, along with LCRO Santa Cruz staff member Trixia Romasanta, visited the barangays to share crucial information about the process for delayed birth registrations through BRAP. They also compiled a list of unregistered individuals for verification in the PSA database. The necessary documents for delayed registration were discussed, and informative leaflets on civil registration were distributed to the residents.
Launched in 2022, one of PSA's key initiatives is the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). This program aims to enhance civil registration rates, particularly in marginalized communities, including Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sectors. By facilitating the issuance of PhilIDs, the project helps individuals secure their legal identities and access social benefits.
