BOAC, MARINDUQUE. Five beneficiaries in the Municipality of Boac has finally secured their PSA-issued Birth Certificates through the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).

On 18 April 2024, PSA Marinduque PSO, in partnership with the LGU of Boac, through the initiative of Boac LCRO headed by MCR Ma. Dahlia M. Jandusay, has successfully awarded the Certificates of Live Birth in Security Paper(SECPA) to the four beneficiaries of the said project. The awarding ceremony took place at the Barangay Hall of Poctoy, which was attended by BRC Shiela Mae D. Matining, together with Boac LCRO personnel ROII Via Maria Malapote, AAVI Lydia Semilla and Poctoy Barangay Secretary Imee Bose to personally award the much-awaited documents to the four beneficiaries of the said project. 

On the same day, another awarding ceremony was held in the barangay Hall of Daig, Boac. ROI Mary Michelle Macutong, together with Boac LCRO personnel and Daig Punong Barangay Eduardo Magculang Jr. personally handed over the PSA-issued Birth Certificate to one beneficiary of the said project.

Jose Montano Demetrio, 57 years old, was born in Bago City, Negros Occidental, now a resident of Barangay Daig, who successfully registered his birth certificate via Out-of-Town Reporting of Delayed Registration, between LCRO Boac, Marinduque and LCRO Bago City, Negros Occidental. He expressed his gratefulness since this program had finally allowed him to obtain his birth certificate for free without having to travel to his birthplace.

As the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) is continuously implemented around the country, more Filipinos have benefited from this program especially those persons in marginalized communities, Indigenous People, Muslim Filipinos, poorest sector of the country, and persons currently living outside their places of birth.
