13 AUGUST 2024 – BALANACAN, MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE. The PSA Marinduque-PSO, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mogpog and the Mogpog Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO), conducted Mobile Registration Services in Barangay Balanacan, Mogpog, Marinduque on 13 August 2024. BRC Shiela Mae D. Matining, RKO Arthur Llamera, and Mogpog LCRO Virginia M. Sartillo were present to assist and register individuals who do not have records in the PSA database. Before the registration proper, MCR Sartillo provided a brief overview of Civil Registration, explaining its significance and procedures. BRC Matining offered insights into the delayed registration process through the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP), while RKO Llamera discussed the benefits and application process for the Digital National ID System. During the activity, Certificates of Live Birth (COLBs) for four individuals were prepared. Registrants born outside the province will have their documents forwarded to the appropriate PSO or LCRO for further processing.

The mobile registration team also addressed requests for PSA copies of civil registry documents through the Mogpog BREQS outlet. Recruitment for the Kasalang Bayan event was conducted, and registration for the National ID System was available for children aged 1-4 years old.

This initiative focuses on increasing civil registration among Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the country’s poorest sectors. The project ensures that these communities receive their PhilIDs, which are essential in accessing social benefits and securing their legal identities. By improving registration rates and issuing PhilIDs, the project seeks to pave the way for these individuals to claim their rights and benefits, thereby promoting greater inclusion and equality.
