These surveys generate production, area, yield, and other production- related data on palay and corn that serve as inputs for policy making and programs on palay and corn. Moreover, the production data generated from these surveys are direct inputs to the Value of Production in the Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries and in the computation of the Gross Domestic Product.

Starting April 2023 Round, these surveys will collect data of farm price that is parallel to the monthly collection by the Farm Price Survey (FPS). Farm prices are determine at the farm or first point of sale transaction. In order to generate more reliable farm price data, the FPS was merged with PPS and CPS using a new sampling design.

Both PPS and CPS employs the face-to-face interview using a paper- and-pen interview technique on 01-10 April 2023. The survey will cover a total of 1,518 sample palay farming households and 1,474 sample corn farming households across all provinces in the MIMAROPA Region. These will be interviewed by 20 hired Statistical Researchers.

In this regard, PSA MIMAROPA enjoins sampled households to support the April 2023 Round PPS and CPS by providing the required information to authorized PSA interviewers who will visit the sample households in the region.
