15 May 2025 - CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Oriental Mindoro successfully conducted a Civil Registration Forum for Solemnizing Officers and Court Personnel on 14 May 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at PSA RSSO MIMAROPA Training Room, Brgy. Camilmil, Calapan City, as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen awareness and compliance with civil registration laws and procedures.

The forum gathered solemnizing officers from various religious denominations and court personnel from across the province to provide updates and guidance on the proper registration of vital events, particularly marriages, in accordance with Republic Act No. 3753 (The Civil Registry Law) and related issuances. Key topics discussed during the forum included:

          ●     Requirements and procedures for the registration of marriages.
          ●     Responsibilities of solemnizing officers in ensuring timely and accurate registration.
          ●     Common issues and errors encountered in civil registration and how to address them.

Chief Administrative Officer and Officer-in-Charge Charlyn Romero-Cantos emphasized the crucial role that solemnizing officers and court personnel play in the integrity of civil registration.
An open forum followed the presentations, allowing participants to raise questions and share experiences, fostering deeper collaboration and mutual understanding between PSA and stakeholders involved in civil registration.

This initiative is part of the PSA’s mandate to improve the quality of civil registry documents and ensure that all vital events in the province are properly documented and registered.
