01 February 2025 - GLORIA, ORIENTAL MINDORO. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro conducted the data collection for the Enhanced Rice and Corn Stock Survey: Household (RCSS:H) in February 2025. This survey is in accordance with Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, which authorizes the PSA to prepare and conduct periodic censuses on various sectors of the economy, and Executive Order No. 352 mandating the conduct of the survey every month.

The RCSS:H is a monthly survey that aims to assess the current rice and corn stock inventories in farming and non-farming households nationwide. The survey aims to generate rice and corn stock inventories for the household sector at the national and sub-national levels and assess the stock levels compared with the same period in the previous year, and the previous month.

The rice and corn stock inventories from the household, commercial, and government sectors serve as inputs to the estimation and compilation of national accounts. Moreover, the survey supports the data needs of planners, policy and decision-makers, and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector particularly the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), National Food Authority (NFA), Department of Agriculture (DA), and the general public.

Four statistical researchers (SRs) conducted the data collection for the February round from 01 to 06 February 2025. The hired SRs underwent a one-day training before the data collection schedule to ensure consistency of concepts and operational procedures. Tablets were used as a medium of data collection, in adherence to the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) approach.

In the Province of Oriental Mindoro, 210 sample households from the municipalities of Baco, Calapan City, Naujan, Socorro, Pinamalayan, Gloria, Bansud, Bongabong, Roxas, and Bulalacao were interviewed.

The PSA is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence, the agency encourages the public, especially the sample households, to participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA. The agency also assures that all collected personal information are processed in accordance with the law and other issuances.
