20 May 2025 – SANTA CRUZ, MARINDUQUE. On 20 May 2025, PSA PSO Marinduque, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Santa Cruz, successfully conducted an Information Dissemination Campaign on the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) and National ID registration. The activity was held during the Family

Development Session (FDS), an initiative of DSWD personnel Elvie Y. Gabalfin, at the covered courts of Barangays Baliis and Lusok, Santa Cruz. BRC Shiela Mae D. Matining, together with Santa Cruz LCRO staff Cindy Caparal, visited the barangays to provide information on the process of delayed birth registration under BRAP. They compiled a list of unregistered individuals for verification in the PSA database, discussed the documentary requirements for delayed registration, and distributed informative leaflets on civil registration.

Meanwhile, National ID personnel ISA I Jhon Mar Nambio and RKO John Paul Murillo facilitated the registration and issuance of paper-format National IDs to individuals in Barangay Lusok who had not yet enrolled or received their physical IDs. Simultaneously, RKOs Ana Rosechel Rodelas and Arthur Llamera provided the same services to residents of Barangay Baliis.

Launched in 2022, one of PSA's key initiatives is the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). This program aims to enhance civil registration rates, particularly in marginalized communities, including Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sectors. By facilitating the issuance of National IDs, the project helps individuals secure their legal identities and access social benefits.
