27 February 2025 – BOAC, MARINDUQUE. To uphold the integrity and efficiency of civil registration services, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office conducted a training on Basic Concepts and Procedures in Civil Registration on 27 February 2025, at Rojaz Events Place, Santol, Boac, Marinduque. Aligned with the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) celebration, the training aimed to equip newly hired Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) staff, medical personnel, and clerks of court with essential knowledge and technical competencies for effective civil registration. The sessions emphasized civil registration laws, procedures, and best practices, ensuring strict compliance with national standards.

Distinguished resource persons facilitated the training, delivering comprehensive discussions on key aspects of civil registration. PSA MIMAROPA Regional Director Leni R. Rioflorido provided an in-depth analysis of Civil Registration Laws and Procedures, underscoring the importance of accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance in processing vital records. Chief Statistical Specialist Gemma N. Opis led a session on the core principles of civil registration and the accomplishment of Live Birth (COLB), while Registration Officer II Ginalyn M. Muhi detailed the general instructions for completing civil registry forms and Registration Officer I Mary Michelle M. Macutong conducted technical training on the proper completion of Certificates of Marriage and Certificates of Fetal Death.

To further reinforce learning, an open forum allowed participants to seek clarifications on procedural concerns and challenges encountered in the field. The interactive discussion provided valuable insights, enhancing participants’ problem-solving skills and technical proficiency in handling civil registration cases.

Through this initiative, PSA PSO Marinduque reaffirms its commitment to delivering transparent, reliable, and efficient civil registration services. By continuously building the capacity of frontline personnel, the agency ensures that its stakeholders remains well-equipped to uphold the highest standards of public service.
