13 March 2025 –BOAC, MARINDUQUE. The National ID registration drive in Marinduque is making an impact on the senior citizen community, with 100-year-old Benigno R. Paz of Aturan, Santa Cruz leading the way. His successful enrollment with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) highlights PSA Marinduque’s dedication to providing inclusive identification services, ensuring that seniors gain easier access to vital government benefits.

More senior citizens in Marinduque are securing their National IDs under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), also known as National ID System, enabling them to access government benefits, including financial assistance and healthcare services.

The Philippine Statistics Authority Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office continues to enhance senior citizens’ access to government benefits by ensuring their registration in the National ID System. More elderly individuals, including octogenarians (80-89 years old), nonagenarians (90-99 years old), and centenarians (100 years old and above), are now securing their National IDs, which serves as a vital tool in availing themselves of various privileges and benefits provided by the government.

Through the ongoing National ID registration efforts, senior citizens are granted a unique and permanent identification that simplifies transactions and ensures seamless access to social protection programs, healthcare services, and other government benefits. This initiative strengthens the implementation of Republic Act No. 11982, or the Expanded Centenarian Act, which grants cash incentives and other benefits to Filipinos reaching 80, 90, and 100 years old. By obtaining National ID, qualified beneficiaries can more easily verify their identity and avail themselves of these financial incentives without the burden of excessive documentary requirements.

PSA PSO Marinduque remains steadfast in its mission to provide a seamless, secure, and accessible identification system for all citizens, particularly the vulnerable sectors of society. The office encourages the families of senior citizens to assist them in the registration process and take advantage of the benefits offered by the National ID system.
