PSA PSO OCCIDENTAL MINDORO CONDUCTS 2025 MONTHLY PALAY AND CORN SITUATION REPORTING SYSTEM, RICE AND CORN STOCKS HOUSEHOLD AND COMMERCIAL SURVEY (RCSS)

Occidental Mindoro Provincial Statistical Office. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Occidental Mindoro Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) conducts Monthly Palay and Corn Situation Reporting System (MPCSRS), Rice and Corn Stocks Survey for Household and Commercial (RCSS) with data collection every first five (5) days of the month.

The 2025 MPCSRS is a monitoring survey of the growing conditions and actual plantings of palay and corn. It provides monthly updates of the expected productions generated by the quarterly Palay Production Survey, and Corn Production Survey. The MPCSRS provides monthly updates on area and production of palay and corn across the country. Rice and Corn Stocks Survey, on the other hand, is use to generate estimate on the rice and corn stocks/ inventories and as such, PSA Occidental Mindoro encourages all sample households/ establishment to actively participate by providing accurate and truthful information.

The 2025 MPCSRS was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS). This mechanism is implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 10625 to ensure
sound design for data collection, minimize the burden place upon respondents, effect economy in statistical data collection, eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts and achieve better coordination of government statistical activities.

In Occidental Mindoro, there are 151 sample households selected for Monthly Palay and Corn Situation Reporting System (MPCSRS), 381 sample households for Rice and Corn Stocks Survey for Household (RCSS:H) and 46 sample establishments for Rice and Corn Stocks Survey for Commercial (RCSS: C). Eight Statistical Researchers (SRs) were hired to conduct personal interviews from the eligible respondents of selected sampling units.

According to Section 19 of Republic Act No. 10173, the “Data Privacy Act of 2012,” all collected information will be kept strictly confidential. Additionally, Section 26 of RA No. 10625 states that individual data provided to the PSA for statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses is considered privileged communication and cannot be used as evidence in any legal proceedings.
