13 FEBRUARY 2025 – SAN ANDRES, ROMBLON. In partnership with the Local Government Unit of San Andres, Romblon, through Local Civil Registry Office, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Romblon Provincial Statistical Office successfully awarded free PSA-certified Certificates of Live Birth printed in Security Papers (SECPA) to the beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). The distribution of Certificate of Live Birth in SECPA to the beneficiaries signifies a significant step forward in the BRAP, emphasizing the commitment to providing citizens with reliable documentation, essential for their rights and identification needs.

The activity was held at Municipal Hall, Brgy. Poblacion, San Andres, Romblon on 13 February 2025 and part of the 35th Civil Registration Month celebration with a theme “𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘈𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦-𝘧𝘪𝘵 𝘊𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘝𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮”.
Present were Vice-Mayor Hon. Joel Ibañez, Municipal Civil Registrar Merlyn F. Fabon, PSA-Romblon Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Johnny F. Solis, Registration Officer II Ms. Maria Cristina M. Uy, Registration Officer I Engr. Mariel V. Fallarcuna and San Andres residents coming from different barangays.
As part of their Birth Assistance Registration Project, PSA shared that it is their goal to register the birth certificates of all Filipinos in the country. To achieve their goal, the LGU informed everyone that one of LCRO’s initiative, under the leadership of MCR Fabon, is the scheduled mobile registration in identified barangays within San Andres.

The distribution was a success with forty-one (41) BRAP beneficiaries received their free SECPA Birth Certificates.
Through the joint efforts of PSA and the Local Government of San Andres, the project aimed to ensure that every individual had access to accurate birth records.
The Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) will continue its commitments to facilitate the registration, ensuring that all Filipino births are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices.
