03 March 2025 – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – PSO Romblon announces the commencement of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Geotagging of Service Facilities and Government Projects (SFGP), marking an essential milestone in the ongoing efforts to collect accurate and timely data for the 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS). This activity, also referred to as 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Form 8, plays a crucial role in the nationwide effort to enhance the country's database on service facilities, government projects, and housing conditions.

Geotagging of SFGP hired personnel coordinating with local government unit officials regarding the conduct of operations in their municipality.

The geotagging operation will involve the collection of vital information regarding the location and details of service facilities and government projects across the province. This data will be crucial in providing local-level information about households, service access, and ongoing government initiatives that impact communities nationwide.

Geotagging allows for precise mapping, enabling better decision-making and more effective government service delivery.

In addition to the geotagging operation, the PSA will also be conducting the Listing of Building Constructions (LoBC) as a supplementary activity. This will gather critical data on construction projects, including the number, type, and value of building constructions, as well as building permit information and the period of construction activity.

The operation will take place from March 3, 2025, to April 12, 2025, with two (2) teams of ten (10) field personnel, each team comprising one (1) Team Supervisor and four (4) Map Data Collectors, tasked with conducting geotagging and listing activities. The data collected will enhance local governance and contribute to the national statistical framework, supporting sustainable development goals and informed policymaking.

The PSA urges all citizens to support the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS by providing accurate information to the field personnel. The successful completion of these operations will play a crucial role in shaping future public services and infrastructure projects, ensuring a more responsive and effective government.
