3 March 2025 - ROMBLON, ROMBLON. In February 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Romblon Provincial Statistical Office field visited all the municipal local government units in the province to request administrative data relative to the compilation of 2022 -2024 Provincial Product Accounts (PPA). The PPA is an important tool in economic planning and policy formulation at the subregional levels to supplement the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at the national and the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at the regional level.

As per PSA-DILG Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2024-01, the LGU will provide data on Revenue of Establishments, Local Government Construction Projects, Inventory of Government Human Resource and Designated Focal Person for PPA. The field visitation covers the office of the Business Permit and Licensing Office, Municipal Engineering Office, Human Resource Office, and Municipal Planning and Development Office.

Engr. Jane G. Rotoni, PPA Statistical Analyst, conducted the field visit to the LGUs, particularly the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), guided the them on how to fill out the forms properly and what are the exact data needed in estimating the economic performance of the province. This activity aims to avoid errors, sending back data files, and fast-tracking the data submission of the LGU.

The compilation of PPA makes use of and depends largely on data inputs and other relevant information from government agencies and institutions, private establishments, industry associations, and households. Thus, the data that go into the compilation and analysis are crucial for timely, reliable, and accurate statistics. These would not be possible without the support of our stakeholders in the provision of data.

This year, PSA's vision is to institutionalize the compilation of PPA in the 17 regions in the country, covering all provinces, highly urbanized cities, and cities of the National Capital Region.
