Registered Live Births in Municipality of Gloria, 2022

More females were born than males

In 2022, more males with 33 births or 55.0 percent share were born than males with 27 births or 45.0 percent share, resulting in 122 males per 100 females sex ratio at birth. (Figure 1)

More births were timely registered

In year 2022, Municipality of Gloria recorded a total of 60 registered births wherein there is more timely registration of births (48 births or 80.0 percent share) compared to late registration (12 births or 20.0 percent share). This indicates that the parents or responsible guardian are informed about proper birth registration.

The summary data indicates that a greater proportion of male births (26 births or 54.2 percent) were timely registered, compared to female births (22 births or 45.8percent). Conversely, males account for seven late registered births, or 58.3 percent of the total late registration, whilst females account for 5 late registered births, or 41.7 percent of the total late registration.

Most number of births registered in December

In 2022, December had the greatest number of registered births with 10 births or 16.7 percent of all births recorded. The months of March and July, with 10.8 percent each came next. April, May and September, on the other hand, had the lowest percentage of births with only three births at 3.3 percent.

Five in ten birth deliveries were attended by midwife

Of the total number of births in Municipality of Gloria, 53.3 percent were attended by midwives. On the other hand, 36.7 percent of births were delivered by a hilot/traditional birth attendant. Furthermore, only 8.3 percent were assisted by physician.

Six in ten births delivered at home

In 2022, a higher percentage of births with 61.7 percent took place in home than those occurred at health facility such as hospital, birthing clinic, lying-in, outpatient care center, specialized care center, or the like. On the other side, 38.3 percent of newborns were delivered at home.

Out of all births, six out of ten were delivered at medical facility as compared to home. The topography or the parents' area influence the delivery location, particularly if the residence is too remote from the city and it takes an hour to get to the nearest hospital. Fortunately, most of the delivery happened at medical facility wherein the patients were assisted by medical professionals. It secures the safety and condition of both mother and the baby.
