Registered Live Births in Municipality of Naujan: 2022
More females were born than males
In 2022, more females (199 or 51.2 percent share) were born than male (190 or 48.8 percent share), resulting in 95 males per 100 females sex ratio at birth in the Municipality of Naujan. (Figure 1)
Most of the births were timely registered
Out of 389 registered births, 324 were timely registered, of this, 168 births were females (51.9 percent), and 156 births were males (48.1 percent). Conversely, a total of 65 births (16.7 percent) were late registered, 31 births (47.7 percent) were females while 34 births (52.3 percent) were males.
Most number of births registered in January
In 2022, January recorded the highest number of registered births with 55 or 14.1 percent share of the total registered births in Municipality of Naujan. The month of November ranked second with 40 births or 10.3 percent share, followed by the month of October with 36 births or 9.3 percent share. On the other hand, the month of June had the lowest number of registered births with 20 or 5.1 percent share.
Eight in ten birth deliveries were attended by physician
Of the total number of births in Municipality of Naujan, 76.3 percent were attended by physician. On the other hand, 12.1 percent of births were delivered by other person excluding physician, nurse and midwife. Moreover, 10.3 percent of births were assisted by hilot/traditional birth attendant.
Eight in ten births delivered at health facility
In 2022, there were 298 registered births (76.6 percent) delivered at health facility such as a hospital, birthing clinic, lying-in, outpatient care center, specialized care center, or the like. Meanwhile, 91 births registered (23.4 percent) delivered at home.
Out of all births, eight out of ten were delivered at medical facility rather than home.
Majority of babies were born to mothers aged 20-24 years old
In 2022, mothers between the ages of 20-24 had 117 births (30.1 percent) while 25-29 ages of mother had 105 births (27.0 percent). On the other hand, mothers between 15-19 ages had 31 births in total (8.0 percent).
Most number of registered births were nonmarital children
In 2022, most registered births were non-marital children with 236 (60.7 percent), of this, 120 (50.8 percent) were females and 116 (49.2 percent) were males in Municipality of Naujan. On the other hand, there were 153 registered births or 39.3 percent recorded as marital children, wherein females had 79 registered births (51.6 percent) and males had 74 registered births (48.4 percent).

Live births shall be reported for registration to C/MCR not later than thirty (30) days from the date of birth.
Any report made to the LCROs beyond the reglementary period are considered late and can be entered only in the civil register after the informant complies with the requirements for delayed registration.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
Live birth is the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a conception, irrespective of the duration of pregnancy, which, after such separation, breaths or shows any other evidence of life such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or the placenta is attached; each product of such birth is considered live born.
Legitimate child is a child who is born to parents who are married to each other. This means that their parents are legally recognized as being married and the child is considered to be their lawful child. A legitimate child has certain legal rights and privileges that an illegitimate child may not have.
