The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque – Provincial Statistical Office has compiled and documented a comprehensive record of vital events, for the year 2023, spanning from January to August. The data was meticulously gathered from six Local Civil Registry (LCR) offices within the province, with close coordination from LCR officers. These vital events encompass the fundamental aspects of societal growth and development, namely Live Births, Marriages, and Deaths. Through this thorough documentation, the PSA aims to provide invaluable insights into demographic trends and patterns across the province.
REGISTERED LIVE BIRTHS

Looking at monthly trends presented in Figure 1, March stands out as the month with the most registered live births. Conversely, August witnessed the lowest number of births, with only 3 recorded. This pattern suggests potential seasonal variations in birth rates within Marinduque. Further investigation into these trends could provide valuable insights into birth patterns in the province.

The report analyzes live births registered in Marinduque between January and August of 2023. The data reveals a total of 1,231 births during this eight-month period. Diving deeper, the report shows a breakdown by sex, with 679 registered births for male infants and 552 for females. Notably, this accounts for approximately 55.2 percent of the total births being male and 44.8 percent female. It's important to note that this report only captures data up to August 2023. Including data for the remaining months (September - December) would provide a more comprehensive picture of live births throughout the entire year.
REGISTERED MARRIAGES

The report covering the period January to August 2023 emphasized that February stood out with the highest count of registered marriages, totaling 183 as depicted in Figure 3. Conversely, July marked the month with the lowest number of registered marriages. Subsequent to July, there was a gradual decline in the number of marriages, reaching zero in August with no recorded marriages during that month. Throughout the entire duration under review, a cumulative total of 709 marriages were officially registered. These records were obtained from the six local civil registry offices in the province. This data underscores fluctuations in marriage rates over the eight-month span, with notable peaks and troughs across different months
REGISTERED DEATHS

Delving into the data concerning registered deaths during the specified period offers a nuanced understanding of mortality patterns within Marinduque. As depicted in Figure 4, there is a notable consistency in the distribution of recorded deaths across the months. January emerges with the highest number of registered deaths, totaling 167, while April presents the lowest figure with 135. This variance in mortality rates throughout the year prompts a closer examination of potential contributing factors.

Furthermore, it is noteworthy that of the total recorded deaths, 662 were male individuals, comprising approximately 55.3 percent of the total, while 536 were females, accounting for approximately 44.7 percent, suggesting potential gender-specific health considerations warranting further investigation.
In summary, the documentation and analysis of vital events by the PSA Marinduque PSO provide invaluable insights into demographic dynamics, societal trends, and health patterns within the province. This data not only serves as a foundation for informed policymaking and resource allocation but also facilitates a deeper understanding of the evolving landscape of the province’s population dynamics.
