Birth Statistics

In the 3rd Quarter of 2024, Romblon registered a total of 1,612 births, indicating a decrease of 300 births (15.7%) compared to the 1,912 births reported during the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, there was a decrease of 29.5 percent in the registered births in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the 2,286 births recorded in the second quarter of 2024.

The month of July 2024 emerged as the month with the highest number of births in Romblon during the reference period, totaling 5865. It was followed by August and September with  526 and 500 registered births, respectively (Table 1).

In the past 12 months, the month of March 2024 registered the most number of registered births with 982, while the least number occurred in September 2024 with 500.

Figure 3 shows the distribution of the number of births by municipality in the province of Romblon during the third quarter of 2024. The municipality of Odiongan topped with 379 registered births during the quarter or 23.5 percent of the total registered births in the province during the said quarter. It was followed by Cajidiocan with 239 or 14.8 percent and Romblon with 211 or 13.1 percent.

Meanwhile, the municipalities of Ferrol and Concepcion registered the least number of births with 6 each, comprising about 0.4 percent of the total registered births in the province during the quarter.
