21 FEBRUARY 2025 – ROMBLON, ROMBLON. The Romblon Provincial Statistics Committee (RPSC) successfully convened its 1st Quarter 2025 Regular Meeting at Conference Hall, Capitol Building, Brgy. Capaclan, Romblon, Romblon on 20 February 2025. Facilitated by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Romblon Provincial Statistical Office, in collaboration with Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) of Romblon, the meeting was chaired by PGDH-PPDO Willard B. Mortos, EnP, MNSA, the RPSC Chairperson.

Eleven (11) RPSC members, participants and representatives attended the activity, which include the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Education (DepEd), Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg), Provincial Social and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), Provincial Health Office (PHO), Philippine National Police (PNP), Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO), Provincial Budget Office (PBO) and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO).

RPSC Members chaired by EnP Mortos, MNSA, after the successful conduct and passing of six (6) key resolutions that would strengthen the statistical data collection and coordination in the province of Romblon.

PSA-Romblon employees who served as presenters were Supervising Statistical Specialist Dandy H. Fetalvero, Senior Statistical Specialist Gerald M. Morada, Statistical Analyst Joy Florence M. Motin, Registration Officer I Mariel V. Fallarcuna, CBMS Statistical Specialist II Mark Andrew F. Cesar and PLDS Statistical Analyst Nolan Jake D. Perez.

Topics being presented and given appropriate discussion during the meeting includes Updates on the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS, 2024 Provincial Product Accounts, PhilSys Updates, January 2025 Inflation Report, Proposed Activities for the National Women’s Month, Latest Vital Statistics Data Appreciation, and PSA-LGU Data Sharing Project.  

Highlight of the meeting this year is the approval of the following resolutions:

1.    Resolution No. 2025-001 – ENJOINING ROMBLON PROVINCIAL STATISTICS COMMITTEE (RPSC) MEMBER AGENCIES TO SUPPORT THE CONDUCT OF THE 2024 PROVINCIAL PRODUCT ACCOUNTS (PPA) ESTIMATION AS ONE OF THE 2025 STATISTICAL OPERATIONS OF THE PHILIPPINE STATISTICS AUTHORITY

2.   Resolution No. 2025-002 – ENJOINING NATIONAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, GOVERNMENT-OWNED AND CONTROLLED UNITS TO  PROVIDE DATA FOR THE 2024 PROVINCIAL PRODUCT ACCOUNTS (PPA) ESTIMATION

3.   Resolution No. 2025-003 – ENJOINING PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES TO PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE DATA TO PHILIPPINE STATISTICS AUTHORITY – ROMBLON (PSA ROMBLON) FOR THE 2025 CONUTRYSIDE IN FIGURES PUBLICATION OF THE PROVINCE OF ROMBLON

4.  Resolution No. 2025-004 – ENJOINING ROMBLON PROVINCIAL STATISTICS COMMITTEE MEMBER (RPSC) AGENCIES TO SUPPORT THE CONDUCT OF THE MONTHLY AND QUARTERLY LABOR FORCE SURVEY (LFS) OF THE PHILIPPINE STATISTICS AUTHORITY

5.  Resolution No. 2025-005 – ENJOINING ROMBLON PROVINCIAL STATISTICS COMMITTEE MEMBER (RPSC) AGENCIES TO SUPPORT THE 35TH CIVIL REGISTRATION MONTH

6.  Resolution No. 2025-005 – ENJOINING ROMBLON PROVINCIAL STATISTICS COMMITTEE MEMBER (RPSC) AGENCIES TO SUPPORT THE 2024 NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH CELEBRATION

The RPSC was established in the province to provide direction and guidance to provincial/local statistical development activities. It shall serve as the policy-making body on statistical matters and shall serve as the venue for discussions and resolution of statistical issues at the local level.
