12 FEBRUARY 2025 – SANTA FE, ROMBLON. On 12 February 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Romblon Provincial Statistical Office successfully conducted an information dissemination on Civil Registration and National ID for principals and school heads in the municipality of Santa Fe. The event took place in Conference Hall, Santa Fe Municipal Building, Brgy. Poblacion, Santa Fe, Romblon and part of the 35th Civil Registration Month celebration with a theme “𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘈𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦-𝘧𝘪𝘵 𝘊𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘝𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮”.


The activity was graced by Ms. Jacquelyn B. Mayor, Municipal Civil Registrar of Santa Fe. She expressed her gratitude to PSA Romblon for organizing the program, noting that it is highly significant, relevant, and educational—especially for the students.
Then, PSA Romblon Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Johnny F. Solis, in his message, enlightened the school heads and principals about the importance of civil registration, particularly accurate birth registration. He also sought the support of the participants to ensure that every student is properly registered.


Registration Offficer II Ms. Maria Cristina M. Uy started the discussion of Civil Registration Laws and Updates. RA 9048 (correction of clerical error or typographical error in an entry and/or change the first name or nickname), RA 10172 (correction of clerical or typographical errors in the day and month in the date of birth or sex of a person) , and RA 9255( An Act Allowing Illegitimate Children to Use the Surname of the Father) were all included in her presentation. Then after, the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP), a program that offers free birth registration, was discussed by CSS Solis.
Then, Registration Officer I Engr. Mariel V. Fallarcuna, in her presentation, highlighted the pivotal role of National ID in various aspects of individuals' lives and provided information on Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and updating services. She also instructed and assisted the attendees on how to access the digital National ID.
Additionally, the information dissemination featured an open conversation in which participants were encouraged to share their concerns and ask questions. The resource speakers ensured any inquiries were answered by offering comprehensive answers and explanations.
The annual observance of CRM is pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 “Declaring the Month of February of Every Year as Civil Registration Month” issued by then President Corazon C. Aquino dated January 28, 1991.
