22 MAY 2025 –BOAC, MARINDUQUE. In a significant leap towards bridging the gap between remote communities and government services, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) recently conducted a National ID registration drive in        Barangay Hinapulan, one of the most remote and hard-to-reach barangays in Boac. This initiative is a part of the government's long-term goal to ensure that all Filipinos—regardless of their location—have access to essential services and benefits.

The National ID registration drive, held during the Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) 4Ps Family Development Session, brought much-needed services directly to the community. Residents, including children under five years old and elderly citizens, were able to easily register and obtain their National IDs.

To further accommodate those with mobility challenges, the National ID registration Team also initiated a house-to-house registration effort, ensuring that elderly residents and those with physical limitations were able to participate.  This thoughtful approach ensured that every eligible individual had the opportunity to participate, regardless of physical limitations.

A total of 38 individuals were successfully registered, primarily comprising young children and senior citizens. In total, 74 National ID in paper format were issued, providing recipients with a crucial tool for accessing government services, healthcare, and financial aid. For these residents, the National ID will not only serve as an essential proof of identity but also enhance their ability to engage with the country’s digital ecosystem and take full advantage of various government programs.

The success of this registration drive is expected to have lasting benefits for the community, enhancing their access to essential services and fostering greater integration into the digital economy. This initiative reflects the government's ongoing commitment to ensuring that all Filipinos, no matter their geographic or socio-economic standing, can fully participate in the nation’s development.
