Volume of Production - Palay

During the fourth quarter of 2024, palay production in Palawan increased by 1.2 percent. The total volume of production this quarter was estimated at 187,847.24 metric tons, which is lower by 2,169.34 metric tons compared with the reported fourth quarter 2023 output of 185,677.90 metric tons.

Of the total palay production in Palawan for the fourth quarter of 2024, 57.0 percent of the output came from irrigated areas. The remaining 43.0 percent was produced from rainfed areas.
 

Volume of Production - Corn

The production of corn in the province for the period October to December 2024 was registered at 4,722.92 metric tons which was an increase of 4.8 percent than the 4,505.32 metric tons harvest in October to December 2023.
 

Yellow corn production contributed 67.7 percent to the total corn output of the province in the fourth quarter of 2024. The remaining 32.3 percent comprised the production for white corn.
 

Area Harvested of Palay Production

Total area harvested of palay during the fourth quarter of 2024 was recorded at 48,692.00 hectares which was a slight increase of 0.7 percent than the same quarter of previous year’s area of 48,362.00 hectares.
 

Palay production from irrigated areas contributed 52.2 percent to the total area harvested of the province. The remaining 47.8 percent of palay production came from rainfed areas.
 

Area Harvested of Corn Production

Total corn area harvested in the province during the fourth quarter of 2024 was recorded at 1,862.00 hectares which was 4.1 percent higher than the same quarter of previous year’s area of 1,789.00 hectares.
 

Yellow corn production contributed 61.9 percent to the total corn output of the province. The remaining 38.1 percent comprised the production for white corn.
