07 November 2024 – MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE. On  07 November 2024, the Philippine Statistics Authority Provincial Statistical Office (PSA PSO) Marinduque, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mogpog and the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Mogpog, successfully held the second-to-last stop of its National Statistics Month (NSM) School Tour at Mogpog National Comprehensive High School (MNCHS) in Capayang, Mogpog. The event was conducted in celebration of the 35th National Statistics Month, under the theme, “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation.”

The NSM School Tour, aimed at promoting statistical literacy among students, emphasized the essential role of data and statistics in nation-building. This initiative sought to educate the next generation on the significance of statistics as a tool for informed decision-making, policy formulation, and sustainable development.

A major highlight of the event was the Statistics Quiz, where students demonstrated their knowledge of statistical concepts and their application in areas such as governance, planning, and everyday life. The quiz was not only designed to test knowledge, but also to foster an appreciation of statistics as a vital resource in shaping national development and addressing societal challenges.

Complementing the quiz, an Infographics Exhibit showcased visually compelling and informative displays, illustrating key statistical data and trends relevant to current issues. By presenting complex statistical concepts in a user-friendly, visually engaging format, the exhibit helped students and attendees better understand the impact of data in shaping effective policies and driving community progress. The exhibit also underscored the importance of digital tools in transforming how statistical data is communicated and utilized for public benefit.

The event was well-attended by educators and students, who expressed their strong support for educational initiatives that promote statistical awareness and digital literacy among the youth. Representatives from PSA PSO Marinduque and the LGU highlighted how digital transformation is expanding access to data and empowering citizens to contribute meaningfully to society.

As the School Tour approaches its destination, the PSA Marinduque remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a generation of informed, data-literate individuals poised to confront the challenges of the future with confidence and insight.
