PRESS RELEASE

PSA Oriental Mindoro Conducts January - March 2024 Crops Production Survey (CrPS)

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro conducted the first quarter round of the 2024 Crops Production Survey (CrPS) in accordance with Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, which authorizes the PSA to prepare and conduct periodic censuses on various sectors of the economy and Executive Order No. 352 mandating the conduct of the survey every quarter.

The field operation was done on March 14 to 26, 2024, wherein 612 sample farmers in the province were visited and enumerated. The collected data will undergo manual editing and computerized data processing. Seven (7) statistical researchers (SRs) were involved in the data collection.

The CrPS is one of the major agricultural surveys conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). This survey aims to generate estimates on the volume of production, area planted/harvested, number of bearing trees/hills/vines, and farmgate prices for crops other than palay and corn at the national and sub-national levels.
