11 March 2025 - ROMBLON, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority– Romblon Provincial Statistical Office is currently conducting the March 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS)/Jobs and Skills Survey (LFS) to 96 sample households in the province.

The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a nationwide household-based survey conducted by the PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. Data from the LFS provides information on major labor market trends such as labor force participation and unemployment rates, hours worked, past industries and occupations of the currently unemployed persons.

Meanwhile, the Jobs and Skills Survey (JSS), a rider survey to the March 2025 LFS, is jointly undertaken by the PSA and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). It is a nationwide survey which aims to collect critical data on employment, skills, and labor conditions which will enhance the understanding of national and regional labor markets, contributing to a more informed and effective policy intervention. The data from the JSS will provide valuable insights to address issues several job quality concerns such as skill mismatches, informal employment, and underemployment and help the government formulate targeted labor and education policies.

Four (4) statistical researchers (SRs) were trained during the Third Level Training conducted last March 04-07,2025, which are involved in the data collection from March 08 to 28, 2025 in selected municipalities of the province.

Trained statistical researchers uses a Computer-Aided Personal Interview (CAPI) data collection system to eligible respondents located at the municipalities of Alcantara, Corcuera, Ferrol, Odiongan, and San Agustin.

As PSA Romblon continues to deliver relevant and reliable statistics necessary for policy formulation, it enjoins the support of the public, especially the sample households, by providing the required information to authorized PSA field personnel during interviews. All information obtained from this survey will be kept strictly confidential as stipulated in Section 26 of RA 10625 (Confidentiality of Information) and Section 8 of RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Confidentiality) and will not be used for taxation, investigation, or law enforcement purposes.
