The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Romblon held the Third Level Operational Training for the First Quarter 2025 Surveys on Palay and Corn Production, as well as Livestock and Poultry Surveys, in the province of Romblon last March 27-28, 2025. This comprehensive training program on agriculture statistics was organized to ensure that the upcoming surveys would be carried out effectively and efficiently across the province’s municipalities and barangays.

PSA Romblon Agricultural Statistics Focals (SA Motin and SSS Fetalvero) with CSS Johnny F. Solis (center) and the Statistical Researchers for the 2025 Cereals and Livestock and Poultry Surveys.
The training sessions were facilitated by Supervising Statistical Specialist Dandy H. Fetalvero and Statistical Analyst Joy Florence M. Motin. The sessions focused on equipping eight Statistical Researchers (SRs) who will be assigned in the islands of Tablas, Corcuera, San Jose, Romblon, Romblon and Sibuyan with the essential knowledge, skills, and tools required to accurately collect and analyze data for these critical surveys. The primary objective was to enhance the SRs' capabilities in conducting the surveys, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and reliability in the data gathered from the local agricultural and livestock sectors.
This initiative is part of the PSA's ongoing commitment to improving data collection methods, which are vital for informed decision-making in agricultural development and livestock management in the region. The SRs were also trained to handle the survey using Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI), contributing to the modernization and success of these important agricultural statistics surveys.
PSA Romblon enjoins the support of the public, especially the sample households, by providing the required information to authorize PSA field personnel during interviews. PSA assures that all the collected information shall be used for statistical purposes only and data collected shall be treated with utmost confidentiality.
