08 August 2025 – MATUYATUYA, TORRIJOS, MARINDUQUE. On 08 August 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO), in partnership with the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Torrijos, successfully conducted Mobile Registration Services in Barangay Matuyatuya, Torrijos, Marinduque.

This initiative forms part of the continued efforts to bring civil registration services closer to the grassroots, particularly to those living in remote or underserved communities. The activity was led by Torrijos Municipal Civil Registrar Ronan L. Regio and his team, alongside BRC Shiela Mae Matining, who personally visited the barangay to assist residents with unregistered births in acquiring their Certificates of Live Birth (COLBs).

Registrants came from Barangays Matuyatuya and Bolo. Some individuals were born outside of Marinduque, and their birth documents were forwarded to the respective Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) in their place of birth for further processing and registration.

In addition to registration services, the team provided free consultations on civil registry concerns. These included corrections of erroneous entries, missing information in birth documents, and guidance on how to request amendments or file late registrations. The initiative aimed not only to document new cases but also to help residents address long-standing issues with their civil registry records.

As part of the activity, two BRAP beneficiaries from Barangay Matuyatuya received their Certificates of Live Birth printed on PSA Security Paper (SecPa), signifying the completion of their birth registration process.

This mobile registration activity underscores the ongoing commitment of PSA Marinduque and LCRO Torrijos to making civil registration services more inclusive and accessible. It is part of a broader campaign, in collaboration with PSA RSSO-MIMAROPA and the Torrijos LGU, to strengthen the civil registration system and promote legal identity for all, especially among marginalized groups such as Indigenous Peoples (IPs), Muslim Filipinos, and residents of geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. Ultimately, the goal of these efforts is to support individuals in securing their National IDs, which serve as their official proof of identity and are essential for accessing government services, social protection programs, education, employment, and financial services.
