In Marinduque, the Local Civil Registry Offices maintain a close working relationship with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to ensure the precise documentation of vital statistics, including live births, marriages, and deaths within the province. These records are the foundation for both individual legal documents and demographic understanding specific to Marinduque. Their collaborative efforts are crucial for upholding the integrity of this local data, which is indispensable for informed local policymaking, effective governance at the provincial and municipal levels, and sustainable development initiatives within Marinduque. Accurate registration of these significant life events empowers the local government to strategically plan public services, allocate resources judiciously within the province, and monitor population dynamics in Marinduque, thereby fostering the overall advancement of the province.   

Registered Vital Events 

Consistent with trends observed in previous periods, live births recorded the highest number among the three types of vital events in the province. A total of 2,072 live births were registered, constituting a majority proportion of 53.8 percent of all recorded vital events. Subsequently, mortality events represented the second most frequently recorded vital statistic, with 1,172 registrations, equivalent to 30.4 percent. Marriages had the lowest number of registrations, totaling 608 and comprising 15.8 percent of the overall vital events recorded.

Registered Live Births by Month of Occurrence

During the period of January to October 2024 in Marinduque, the number of registered live births exhibited notable monthly variation. The highest number of live births was recorded in September, with a total of 283 occurrences. This figure represented a significant portion of the overall total for the ten-month period, accounting for 13.7 percent. In contrast, the subsequent month of October experienced the lowest number of registered live births. In October 2024, the recorded live births totaled 156, which constituted 7.5 percent of the cumulative live births from January to October. This indicates a considerable decrease in live births from the peak observed in September to the lowest point in October within the reported timeframe.

Registered Live Births by Sex

During the period under review, male live births in the province outnumbered female live births. The total count of registered male live births reached 1,058, representing 51.1 percent of the overall registered live births. This figure surpassed the number of registered female live births, which totaled 1,014 and constituted 48.9 percent of the total. The proportion of male live births was therefore 4.3 percentage points higher than that of female live births within the recorded period.

Registered Marriages by Month of Occurrence

Based on provisional data encompassing the period January to September 2024, the total number of registered marriages was recorded. As of 28 February 2025, data for October 2024 were not yet available in the preliminary dataset. Among the reported months, May exhibited the highest number of registered marriages, totaling 137, which constitutes 22.5 percent of the overall count for the available period. Conversely, September recorded the lowest number of registered marriages, with 29 instances, representing 4.8 percent of the total for the reported months.

Registered Deaths by Month of Occurrence

Preliminary data indicates a total of 1,172 deaths in Marinduque during the observed period. The month of January recorded the highest number of deaths at 161, while October registered the lowest with only one death. Additionally, June and July each reported the same number of deaths. These figures illustrate the monthly distribution of mortality within the recorded period.

Registered Deaths by Sex

The distribution of deaths by sex indicated a higher incidence among males, with 655 recorded deaths. This figure represents a 26.7 percent higher compared to the number of female deaths, which totaled 517.
