PSA Occidental Mindoro Turns Over 2022 CBMS Data to Municipality of Looc

A significant milestone for the Municipality of Looc was achieved as the Philippine Statistics Authority successfully turned over the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) results to their Local Government Unit.

In a momentous ceremony, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Occidental Mindoro conducted a Data Turnover Ceremony of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data results to the municipality of Looc held at Triple King Hotel, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro on 26 April 2024. The ceremony was attended by PSA officials from the Regional office of MIMAROPA led by the Regional Director Leni R. Rioflorido, PSA Occidental Mindoro personnel headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Maribel L. Bernardo, PhD, Municipal Planning Development Coordinator, Ms. Louella De Lara duly representing the Municipal Mayor Marlon V. Dela Torre, City Government Department Heads and members of the CBMS coordinating board, and distinguished representatives from the provincial offices of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and Provincial Planning Development Office.

Regional Director Leni Rioflorido, in her opening address, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the Local Government Unit of Looc for their unwavering support in the successful implementation of the CBMS within their jurisdiction and commended everyone for their effort, dedication, and hard work that resulted to the success of 2022 CBMS.

Ms. Untalan presented the highlights from the results of 2022 CBMS across various aspects. The results in various area were discussed and participants were provided a glimpse of data with emphasis on indicators aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The presented data serves as significant resources for LGU Looc for sustainable development and allowing policymakers to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to enhance the well-being of the community.

Meanwhile, Municipal Planning and Development Officer Ms. Louella V. De Lara, on behalf of Municipal Mayor Marlon V. Dela Torre, extended her gratitude to the Philippine Statistics Authority in her acceptance speech for their diligence, hard work and funding the LGU Looc. She emphasized that LGU Looc is fully committed in ensuring the security of CBMS data and will use this for the preparation of different plans and programs of the municipality for the successful outcomes that lies ahead. Details on the plans and programs was discussed by the Municipal Statistician of Looc, Ms. Maricel A. Dela Torre.

In closing, Chief Statistical Specialist Maribel L. Bernardo, expressed her gratitude for the commitment of LGU Looc to conduct CBMS. She hopes that the policies and programs from CBMS data collected will improved the quality of lives of the population of over 7,124 in LGU Looc. Additionally, she stated that LGU’s will have a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive community that values the use of data in effectively providing better quality and efficiency in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating government services.

The successful 2022 CBMS Data Turnover marks a significant moment in LGU Looc’s journey towards the sustainable and inclusive development of their municipality. It is with immense pride that the LGU Looc affirms the profound significance of 2022 CBMS data as “Swak na Datos para sa Komunidad na Mas Maayos”.
