In an effort to expand the reach of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration services and ensure the inclusion of all eligible individuals in the province, the PSA Marinduque PSO organized four-day registration drives in the distant barangays of Bayuti and Boi, situated in the interior and mountainous part of the municipality Boac. These drives specifically targeted the registration of children aged 1 to 4 years old.
The registration drives in Bayuti and Boi were met with great enthusiasm from the community, as families came together to ensure that their children aged 1 to 4 years old were registered under the PhilSys. To make the experience more engaging for the young participants, candies were given out as tokens of appreciation for their cooperation.
Aside from the registration services, the PhilSys Team also conducted assistance with the authentication of ePhilIDs/PhilIDs for DSWD 4Ps beneficiaries. This additional support was crucial in ensuring that those in need have access to the benefits and services they are entitled to.
Moreover, the Team took the opportunity to engage with the residents, sharing valuable information about the significance of being registered in the PhilSys. It explained the various functionalities of ePhilIDs and PhilIDs, emphasizing how these identification cards can streamline access to government services and facilitate everyday transactions.
Notwithstanding the challenges imposed in transportation which involved carrying registration kits and photo booth setups across hour-long hikes and rivers, the PhilSys Team's unwavering dedication and commitment resulted in the successful registration of 124 individuals, including children aged 1 to 4 years old. Additionally, PhilSys personnel were able to authenticate 266 PhilSys IDs of 4Ps beneficiaries and distributed 117 ePhilIDs.
Overall, the four-day registration drives served as a successful initiative to bring the benefits of PhilSys to even the most remote barangays, ensuring that no eligible individual is left behind in this important nationwide endeavor.
