12 February 2024 – ROMBLON, ROMBLON. As part of the celebration of the 34th Civil Registration Month with a theme “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Service”, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Romblon Statistical Office conducted intensified information dissemination regarding the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).

BRAP, a project of the Philippine Statistics Authority in partnership with the local government units, aimed to increase the level of civil registration specially in marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous People, Muslim Filipinos’ and the poorest sector in the country. In order that the project will reach the intended beneficiaries, PSA Romblon conducted consultative forum with the senior citizens’ organization in every municipality to be able to convince them to register their unregistered members to the local civil registry offices for them to benefit the social services of the government which requires birth certificates to every beneficiary.

On February 7, 2024, CSS Johnny F. Solis and PhilSys Focal Person Mariel V. Fallarcuna initiated a dialogue with the barangay officials and senior citizens’ organization officers of Cajiidocan, Romblon to be able to explain the objectives and benefits of the project highlighting the relaxed requirements for delayed registration under the BRAP. Meanwhile, similar activity was conducted on February 8, 2024 at San Fernando, Romblon.
