8 March 2024 – ROMBLON, ROMBLON. As the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) is continuously implemented around the country, more and more Filipinos have benefited specially those persons in marginalized communities, Indigenous People, poorest sector of the country, and persons currently living outside their place of birth. This is a significant milestone which the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) prioritize to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs).

In this joint endeavor, the Philippine Statistics Authority Romblon Provincial Statistical Office provided assistance during BRAP mobile registration in different municipalities in province of Romblon.

In San Fernando, the kick-off program of BRAP mobile registration was spearheaded by San Fernando Municipal Civil Registrar Ms. Marilou R. Chan in Barangay Canjalon last February 6, 2024. It was also attended by SB Hon. Rommel Repil and Canjalon barangay officials, under the leadership of Punong Barangay Hon. Avelino R. Rabino, and PSA Romblon represented by Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Johnny F. Solis. The activity was able to have 120 delayed registration of births. 

 

Meanwhile, the registration team in Magdiwang for barangays Silum, Poblacion and Tampayan included OIC-Municipal Civil Registrar Ms. Sandra Elena P. Famero, Administrative Aide II Ms. Catherine R. Capili, JO Ms. Nica Shane E. Vispo with PSA PhilSys Focal Person Mariel V. Fallarcuna in attendance.

In Santa Fe, forty-seven (47) persons were successfully interviewed during the mobile registration initiated  by Ms. Jacqueline B. Mayor, Municipal Civil Registrar together with her LCRO staff. RO I Maria Cristina Uy participated in the activity. 

On the other hand, BRAP beneficiaries from Brgy. Lamao, Romblon, Romblon were also successfully registered through mobile registration conducted by the LCRO Romblon led by OIC-Municipal Civil Registrar Mr. Kenneth Benedicto.

PSA Romblon encourages Romblomanons without birth certificates to take the opportunity to be registered free under the BRAP.
