12 March 2024 – ROMBLON, ROMBLON. As part of the celebration of the 34th Civil Registration Month with a theme “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Services”,  Philippine Statistics Authority Romblon Statistical Office conducted numerous information dissemination regarding Civil Registration Laws and Updates in the province of Romblon to stakeholders like teachers, barangay officials and students.

On February 20, 2024, PSA Romblon represented by RO I Maria Cristina M. Uy and AA VI Judy Ann S. Bancoro conducted information drive about civil registration laws and its updates to barangay officials,  municipal officials, senior citizen officers and school heads in the municipality. Important topics such as common problems in civil registration were initially discussed and was given answers by presenting RA 9048, RA 10172, RA 9255, RA 9858 including topics about court decrees and legal instruments. Further, the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) was also discussed informing them of the program of PSA and LGU for the free registration of birth for marginalized sectors of our community. 

 

The participants questions and concerns were given answers during the open forum conducted after the discussion. Participants were very appreciative of the efforts of the PSA to continually educate them of the updates in civil registration as this has importance to everyone. School heads, likewise, expressed optimism to be conducted of the same activity to their teachers so that common problems with the records of their pupils/students can be addressed.

Present during the activity are Mayor Milagros Faderanga, MCR Emie Liza Ferrancol and other municipal staff.
