19 JUNE 2024 – LIBTANGIN, GASAN, MARINDUQUE. PSA Marinduque PSO and the LGU of Gasan organized a Mobile Registration Services event on 19 June 2024, at the covered court of Barangay Libtangin, Gasan, Marinduque.
The event was aimed at registering individuals who do not have their birth certificates. Birth Registration Coordinator Shiela Mae Matining, along with Gasan MCR Maria Sofia R. Madronio and staff, facilitated the registration process. Additionally, they provided free consultation services on civil registry documents to address incorrect entries.
Furthermore, Birth Certificates in Security Paper (SecPa) were distributed to beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Program (BRAP). Two beneficiaries expressed their joy and gratitude for finally obtaining their birth certificates, free of charge.
Overall, the initiative was well-received and appreciated by the community members who participated, as it enabled them to secure essential civil registry documents.
BRAP was implemented in the country to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices and that they will be enrolled with the PhilSys National Identification System. This undertaking is a joint project of PSA Marinduque, PSA RSSO-MIMAROPA and Gasan LGU. As of 2023, 258 target beneficiaries were allotted to be registered in the Municipality of Gasan. Hence, PSA Marinduque, together with LCRO of Gasan, conducts Mobile Registration activities in various barangays of Gasan to ensure that all unregistered births will be registered to the concerned PSO/LCRO.
