05 SEPTEMBER 2024 – MATUYATUYA, TORRIJOS, MARINDUQUE. On 05 September 2024, PSA Marinduque PSO, in collaboration with the Torrijos LGU and through the efforts of LCRO Torrijos, successfully conducted a mobile registration and awarding of Certificates of Live Birth (COLBs) on security paper. The event took place in Barangay Matuyatuya, Torrijos, Marinduque. During the event, BRC Shiela Mae D. Matining, along with Torrijos MCR Ronan L. Regio and his team, assisted in registering birth certificates of eleven individuals whose records were not available in the PSA database.

The beneficiaries included residents from nearby barangays such as Suha, Bolo, and Mabuhay. Some individuals were born outside the province, requiring their documents to be sent to the appropriate PSO or LCRO for further processing and registration. Additionally, seven beneficiaries from these nearby barangays received their Birth Certificates on Security Paper (SecPa) through the BRAP. The recipients expressed their deep gratitude for receiving their birth certificates at no cost.

This initiative highlights the dedicated efforts of PSA Marinduque PSO and LCRO Torrijos in providing crucial civil registry services, particularly for individuals whose birth records are not readily available in the centralized database. By addressing these gaps, the program reaffirms its commitment to making essential documentation accessible to everyone.

It also exemplifies a collaborative effort between PSA Marinduque, PSA RSSO-MIMAROPA, and the Torrijos LGU to enhance civil registration, with a special emphasis on marginalized communities, including Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the country’s most impoverished sectors. The primary goal is to ensure that individuals within these groups can secure their PhilIDs (Philippine Identification System IDs), thereby improving their access to vital services and opportunities.
