18 OCTOBER 2024 – MARINDUQUE PROVINCIAL STATISTICAL OFFICE. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) has effectively completed the survey on retail prices of selected commodities and services for the month of October 2024.

This monthly survey is a key initiative designed to gather vital data on a wide range of essential goods, including food items, non-food products, and other critical commodities. The primary aim is to monitor price fluctuations and trends in the local market, providing timely and accurate information for economic analysis.

To ensure comprehensive data collection, PSA-Marinduque enlisted the support of six Statistical Researchers (SRs). These researchers were tasked with visiting six designated retail outlets across the province, conducting the survey in two phases. The first phase took place from October 1-5, 2024, while the second phase followed from October 15-17, 2024. This approach ensured the gathering of reliable and up-to-date price data for key commodities and services.

This survey is part of the PSA's ongoing efforts to compile the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and track inflation rates, which are critical indicators for assessing the economic well-being of households. The data gathered from these surveys help inform government policies, business decisions, and planning initiatives to ensure price stability and safeguard consumer interests.

PSA PSO Marinduque remains committed to providing timely and reliable data to support both local and national economic monitoring and development efforts.
