28 October 2024 – BUENAVISTA, MARINDUQUE. In celebration of the 35th National Statistics Month (NSM), themed “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation," the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office conducted a meaningful gift-giving event at Daykitin Child Development Center on 28 October 2024. Entitled “One PSA, One Dream – Spreading Hope Through Gift Giving,” the initiative aimed to spread joy and strengthen community bonds, particularly among children and their families.
The event commenced with a welcoming message from Punong Barangay Manuel O. Reanzares, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to PSA Marinduque for selecting Barangay Daykitin and its residents as beneficiaries. He commended the PSA for its continuous support and impactful outreach, especially in rural communities like Daykitin.
Following PB Reanzares, Municipal Civil Registrar Ujunniel V. Milambiling shared words of appreciation, highlighting the significance of PSA’s presence and commitment to community welfare. Supervising Statistical Specialist Orlando L. Mercene then delivered a message, thanking the Sangguniang Barangay of Daykitin for its assistance and involvement in the event. He assured attendees that PSA would continue to support and celebrate activities that contribute to the well-being of local communities.
As part of the program, Information Officer I Danica J. Gamara conducted an informative session on the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). She provided insights into the various features of the National ID, emphasizing its role in enhancing access to government services and fostering a more inclusive society. She highlighted the importance of PhilSys in facilitating streamlined and secure transactions, encouraging residents to register and benefit from the system.
The gift-giving activity reached a total of 52 children, who received items such as school supplies, toys, and food treats. The PSA Marinduque Team expressed joy in sharing these gifts, seeing it as an opportunity to support and uplift the community’s youngest members.
PSA Marinduque extends its gratitude to all partners and community members who made this event a success. The activity underscores PSA’s dedication to both its mission of providing quality statistical services and its commitment to compassionate outreach. Through events like “One PSA, One Dream,” PSA Marinduque exemplifies its role not only as a vital source of data but also as an active supporter of inclusive, community-centered initiatives.
