05 NOVEMBER 2024 – MARINDUQUE PROVINCIAL STATISTICAL OFFICE. In a proactive effort to enhance knowledge and ensure compliance with evolving regulations, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office conducted an in-house orientation on Republic Act No. 11909, the “Permanent Validity of the Certificates of Live Birth, Death, and Marriage Act”, held on  05 November 2024, at the PSA Marinduque Provincial Office.

The in-house training program aimed to equip PSA Marinduque personnel with comprehensive knowledge of RA 11909, which emphasizes adherence to updated standards and practices in public service. By organizing this orientation, the PSA Marinduque leadership ensures that its personnel are well-informed of the legal responsibilities and benefits under this law.

Participants engaged in an interactive session led by Registration Officer I Ms. Mary Michelle M. Macutong and Registration Officer II Ms. Ginalyn M. Muhi, who provided a thorough overview of the Registration of Vital Events. In these sessions, they addressed essential procedures for accurately recording and validating civil registry documents, including birth, death, and marriage certificates. The discussions highlighted the critical importance of accuracy in civil registry processes, underscoring the role of precision in safeguarding citizens' records and legal rights.

The program continued with an informative session led by Chief Statistical Specialist Ms. Gemma N. Opis, who presented an in-depth explanation of the key provisions of RA 11909, highlighting the law’s significance in securing the rights of individuals to have civil documents with lifetime validity. She outlined the responsibilities of PSA personnel in applying the law, ensuring that citizens receive reliable, accessible, and consistent service from the agency.

Additionally, the program included an open forum moderated by Birth Registration Coordinator Ms. Shiela Mae D. Matining. This interactive segment allowed attendees to raise questions and engage in discussions, thereby fostering a collaborative learning environment.

The session concluded with closing remarks from Registration Officer II  Ms. Ginalyn M. Muhi, who underscored the significance of the knowledge gained and encouraged personnel to apply this understanding to improve public service delivery.

This orientation exemplifies PSA Marinduque's dedication to continuous professional development, ensuring its personnel are fully equipped to uphold the principles of RA 11909 and deliver the highest standard of civil registration services.
